Ashley and Josh's Wedding

Josh and Ashley's wedding day was full of pure joy.

For the guys the morning began with the cool spray of wakeboarding and the laughter of friends.

At the church, as the bridesmaids prepared for the wedding, soft music played throughout the room. Tears rolled down Ashley's cheeks as she presented a letter of encouragement to her bridesmaids.

During the pre-wedding photographs, I loved how the golden sunlight slipped through the green branches of an oak tree. Ashley's eyes seemed to glow and shimmer as she looked at Josh.

Throughout the whole day Ashley and Josh bubbled over with joy. Thier wedding was simply pure and beautiful. We were honored to tell their story.

Vanessa and Joe's Wedding

One of Nebraska's first hot summer days came blowing across the plains on Joe and Vanessa's wedding day.

Some of my favorite photos were taken hidden beneath a grove of old trees. In these photos, I love the striking contrast between the ancient weathered trees and the fresh newness of the bride and groomVanessa's skin seemed to glow with love as her vail moved across her face

Surrounded by the warm laughter of friends and family, the day was full of wit and surprises.  It was great to be a part of all the festivities.

Lissy and John's Wedding

Cool autumn clouds hung low over the October morning, while tall gold and cream colored grasses swayed in the fields around the church where Lissy and John were married.  The gray skies added the perfect hues to capture family photos outside, everyone looked great, and we were able to capture some timeless shots of several generations of family all together.

Excitement rose right after the wedding ceremony as John had arranged a surprise fly over by the National Guard. The exhilaration and emotions were high as everyone cheered when the planes flew by. Then to add to the excitement and laughter the guys changed from their formal tux vests to cameo duck hunting ones, setting the mood for a fun and lively reception.

The reception was hall was lit with warm welcoming candles, fall leaves, duck feathers, and bright round pumpkins. To get the bride and groom to kiss wild duck calls ringed out through out the reception hall, bringing about much laughter and made for some joyous photographs. This wedding was full of the joys of family, laughter, love and fellowship of good friends, all sharing in the celebrating John and Lissy’s special day.

Joe & Kelly

Bright sunshine lit up the country wedding of Joe and Kelly. The beautiful simplicity of the event created a relaxed and eloquent feel to the day.

Friends and Family arrived to Joe’s family farm and were escorted on a white trolley to the wedding ceremony, which was held in a near by pasture.  Everything about Joe and Kelly’s wedding was carefully thought out and small personal touches were added in, from the wooden stage they built together out of old barn wood, the teepee they set up for their honeymoon suit, to all the small symbolic details on the stage and in the ceremony.

The guests sat on covered hay bales while they watched Kelly’s Grandpa walk her down the hill and Kelly’s dad officiate the wedding. The couple exchanged both rings and red roses signifying their friendship and love for each other.

After the wedding we were very fortunate to find near by a late harvest of sunflowers. For miles beautiful golden sunflowers shimmered in the late Nebraska afternoon sun. What a find, what a perfect way to describe Joe and Kelly’s wedding day, warm, natural, peaceful, and fun.

Danni and Chris' Wedding

Danni and Chris’ Wedding was filled with fun and joyous excitement as their friends and family joined in the celebration of the day.  Danni and Chris’ 3 children also shared this day.

This day was full beautiful sunlight.  It saturated the bridal photos and energetic bridal party shots at the May Museum, however my personal favorite moment during the day took place at the reception.

The reception hall was dark except for the soft lights that illuminated the tables. The mood was perfect; the emotion was raw and magical, as pictures of Danni, Chris and their children were serenaded by music. Danni held her daughter in her lap, Chris his son, as they shared in the ending of one chapter and a beginning of another.
