Sam + David | Omaha, Nebraska

On the day we met Sam and David for their engagement pictures, warm spring sunlight melted through the afternoon skies in Elmwood Park. Sam and David are such a sweet couple, who really know how to make each other smile and laugh.  We had such a great time getting to know them during the photo shoot.  They were so natural with there love for each other.  They are perfect for each other.  We are so excited and honored to be a part of their wedding in April!

Wendy + Neil | Lincoln, Nebraska

We met Wendy and Neil in Lincoln's downtown Haymarket.  Winter snow collected on the edges of the cobblestone streets while the afternoon sun hid behind soft gray clouds.  Lincoln's downtown area was the perfect place to take Wendy and Neil's engagement pictures.  It was here that they first met at Old Chicago. We had so much fun getting to know them better.  They are a sweet couple, who love to laugh and enjoy just being together.  We look forward to their upcoming wedding!

Our Little Loves

While we try to teach our children all about life, Our children teach us what life is all about. ~Angela Schwindt

Since we are always telling the stories of other people's love, we thought it would be fitting to share with you the little loves of our life, our daughters Lilian and Evelyn. They bring us so much joy and are the sunshine that brightens our day.  Our oldest, Lily, amazes us everday, she is a ham and she brings laughter and personality everywhere she goes.  She is a wonderful big sister and little helper.  Our baby Evie is so happy and snuggly.  She is enamored by eveything and always has a smile for us.  We love how they are becoming best friends and exploring the world together.  They are the joy of our life! Happy Valentines day!

Holly + Paul - Winter Engagement Pictures

"Silently, slowly falls the snow from an ashen sky," -Giosue Carducci

Winter's afternoon sun was setting across Nebraska's farmlands when we met Holly and Paul for their engagement pictures.  We drove out into the country to a rustic old homestead.  The white frosted ground sparkled and crunched under our feet.  Together we adventured through the snow and braved the cold.  The location was inspiring to us, since we have regularly passed by it on our travels to Lincoln.

Holly and Paul were great.  They shared our vision for a winter wonderland.  After a few pictures they warmed up with hot cocoa and marshmallows.  We ended the engagement shoot at a country bridge accented by the setting sun.  Everything was just right.

Highlights of 2010: Laughter

"We are all a little weird and life is a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love."  ~ Dr. Seuss

The most memorable moments are the unexpected.  Moments that catch you by surprise and result in uproarious laughter.  This year of weddings was full of just those moments, where the brides and grooms had zany senses of humor, very similar to ours.  We thought it might be fun to share just a few of those moments with you.  Below we have highlighted just some of the many, many great times and great people we have been able to get to know.  We hope these pictures bring smiles.  That's why we love our job!

Everyone laughed at the wedding of Joe and Vanessa, because during the middle of the ceremony the groomsmen unexpectedly brought out a homemade ball and chain instead of the wedding ring.  We didn't feel sorry one bit for Joe since he has it pretty good being stuck with such an amazing girl.

It was summer, in the small town of Seward, and Matt had this "GREAT" idea.  All the groomsmen lined up to jump off the stage.  It was perfect, they ran, they jumped....and then....the groom then fell and ripped a hole in his pants... oops!! Good thing they had renters insurance and a great sense of humor!

Weddings are full of hilarious moments; silly faces, grooms pretending to run away and lots of bridal party humor.  At the reception anything can happen! The inevitable cake smashing, the memorable speeches, crazy dances, outlandish costumes, and spontaneous chants and laughter.  It is these little moments that make each wedding unique, wonderful and all the more memorable.

Before Josh and Ashley's wedding Matt had the opportunity to go wake boarding with the groomsmen, hours before the ceremony. These guys were great, they did flips and jumps with grace and ease.  Then when they offered Matt a turn, he realized just how hard it was to do those cool moves let alone get up out of the water! The top pictures are of the pros and the bottom two pictures are of Matt attempting to stand up on the board. :)

Thanks for sharing such a great year with us!
