Leah + Joe | Omaha, Nebraska

Omaha is always full of surprises.  As photographers we seek out the unexpected.  While meandering through the Old Market we discovered a few stellar alleys and hidden corners just perfect for Joe and Leah's engagement shoot.  The rustic urban streets were lit with the afternoon spring sunlight.  Leah looked stunning and Joe created a sparkle in her eyes every time he smiled at her.  They were so easy to photograph.  They were perfect.  The late afternoon was full of spontaneous teasing and bantering which produced much laughter and smiles.  At the end of the photo session when the sun was low on the horizon, we made one final stop by a local joint for a drink.  We truly enjoyed sitting and chatting with Leah and Joe.  We are so excited for their wedding in the fall!

Post Family | Omaha, Nebraska

This spring I had the opportunity to take pictures for the Post family.  We met on Woolworth Ave at General Ford's birth place in Omaha.  White spring petals scattered on the ground around the gardens.  We took a few family pictures before heading to Hanscom Park.  The Post family was so much fun to photograph.  Each of their 5 kiddos had such wonderful personalities.  One of my favorite photographs was towards the end of the session when the three oldest boys were told they could take off their buttoned shirts.  With much enthusiasm they spontaneously cheered and threw their shirts into the air.   It was hilarious!   Thank you Post Family.

Sam + David | Plattsmouth, Nebraska

On the day that Sam and David were married, white spring blossoms reveled their soft petals around Hosanna Lutheran Church in Plattsmouth, NE.  With high wispy white clouds and blue skies, the air was fresh with a breath of excitement.

Sam and David celebrated the union of their marriage with their family and friends.  Sam looked so elegant and relaxed throughout the day.  Her natural beauty was simply stunning.  She and David are an amazing couple, who share a deep love for each other.  We had such a fun time taking their photographs.  The bridal party was a riot of silliness.  After the wedding we made a quick stop at David’s favorite pool house. David loves playing pool so we couldn’t resist making the day all the more special for them.

Everything from the preparation to the reception at Arbor Hall was beautiful.  The reception was a combination of laughter and tears throughout the childhood video and Sam and David’s 1st dance to "Suddenly" by Billy Ocean.  It was a joyous night!  We were so honored to be a part of their day.  We wish them all the best!

Hacker Family | Omaha, Nebraska

I had the privilege to take photographs for the Hacker family in celebration of the twins 1st Birthday.  Even though we began the photo session with formal pictures, I could not resist sharing the cake pictures first.  I loved playing with the kids and catching them in their natural settings.  I had an amazing time getting to know all of them better and finding out each one's personality.

Our final photos were a messy delight.  The twins immediately dove into the cake.  With frosting covered lips they beamed with sheer joy.  It was a perfect way to end the photo shoot.

Brianne + Beau | Omaha, Nebraska

Our 1st wedding of 2011 began with a burst of excitement as we had the honor to celebrate the marriage of Beau and Brianne. The day was draped with stunning simplicity.  Black satin ribbons and white anemones with pale pink hues added rich elegance.

The whole day was filled with joy, from the moment Beau saw Brianne, to the celebration of the reception.  Beau and Brianne are the type of people who are always thinking of others.  Their love for each other was as evident as their love for all who shared in their special day with them.

Spring clouds held the potential of rain, creating the perfect mixture of sunlight and soft gray hues. Some of our favorite pictures were taken along a lane of trees at Boys Town.  Suddenly, the trees filled with sunlight turning them to a brilliant emerald green just as Beau and Brianne were embracing.  Matt was so excited, that he exclaimed, "Gem City!"  This made no sense to any of us, but produced much laughter, smiles and teasing.

It is people like Beau and Brianne that make photography so much fun. They are the type of people who touch your heart and stay with you.  We wish them all the best!

Baby Luis |

This spring my girls and I loaded up our car and traveled to western Nebraska.  We went to visit and photograph one of my dear friend's little baby.  Luis melted my heart from the moment I saw him.  He was so adorable with his dark eyes and chubby little cheeks.  Jen and I have been friends for a long time.  We have shared several joys and trials throughout life.  I cherish the times we have together and I was overjoyed when she asked me to photograph her little guy.
