Maggie + Alex | Firth Nebraska

Just outside Firth, NE, near Maggie's childhood home, rolling farmlands swayed with summer's tall green corn. The peacefulness of the countryside ushered in the celebration of Maggie and Alex's wedding.  The ceremony and tent reception were intimate and graceful.  The day was filled with such depth, richness and beauty that both Matt and I were so grateful to be a part of such love.  Maggie and Alex's love is layered with time, friendship, and faith.

Hidden in a grove of trees, Alex and Maggie first saw each other.  At that moment love engulfed them with tears of overwhelming joy.  It was a moment we will never forget. Maggie and Alex are so much fun to be around.  Alex can always make Maggie laugh and Maggie brings a smile to Alex's face.

The wedding and celebration that followed were perfect. The tent was lit with family and friends dancing and enjoying the summer night.  As Maggie and Alex left the reception sparklers and stars twinkled in the night sky. Thank you for letting us share your joy!

Ashlee + Steve | Fremont Nebraska

In the midst of the summer Ashlee and Steve were married in Fremont, NE.  The day had finally come after much anticipation and awaited excitement.  Ashlee and her family, owners of an event planning and decorating service called Enchanted Weddings and Events, had planned everything perfectly.  It was evident that hours of detailed preparation had gone into making this a day to remember. There were so many special details, from the bouquets Ashlee made herself, to the veil that her mother loving spent numerous hours hand crafting.  The details included: flower pins, rose petals, broaches, cowboy boots, a homemade ice cream stand, cloth napkins wrapped in damask ribbon, center pieces of all different styles and at least five different cakes to try.  Then there were orchids, beautiful orchids everywhere... it was simply gorgeous!   Along with ALL the beautiful decorations and glimmer, Ashlee and Steve were so much fun to photograph.  Surrounded by their friends, the laughter and jokes flowed freely producing contagious smiles.

One of my favorite places we photographed was near an old shed outside of Fremont.  The sun was setting adding a glow to Ashlee and Steve's love and joy, and at the reception the celebration continued with all their family and friends.  We had so much fun celebrating with Ashlee and Steve.  We couldn't be happier for them!

Melissa + Scott | Hooper, Nebraska

There is something wonderful about marrying your best friend.  There is a sweet simplicity and depth when you truly know someone. This is the love Melissa and Scott share. Melissa and Scott met in school and their lives are layered with many overlapping moments together.  So on their wedding day the excitement and joy was tremendous.

The main road to the county church was closed, causing all the guests to detour through the countryside. Sometimes the unexpected becomes exceptional.  The hilarious photos with the road closed sign added to the adventure and the story of their wedding day.  The whole day was a celebration.  It was a joy to be a part of their lives. Best of luck in the future!

Mike + Sarah | Omaha, Nebraska

For generations First Baptist Church in Council Bluffs, Iowa has been the place Sarah and her family have celebrated marriage.  Therefore it was the ideal place for Mike and Sarah to share their vows and begin their life together.   Their family and faith were woven throughout the whole day binding the two together.  When I think of Sarah and Mike I always smile.  They are sunlight, spilling joy everywhere they go. They are a cool breeze that calms and rememberers the past.  They are a warm flame of fire, they kindle life, passion, perseverance and faith. Their love is contagious.

When we 1st met we were astonished and amazed at how similar our love stories were. Their wedding day was the same, the songs, the scripture readings, the colors and the celebration reminded us of our own wedding. During the vows I happened glance across the church at Matt (my husband), who smiled and lovingly looked at his own wedding ring. Tears silently ran down my cheeks.  Love was everywhere in that church it saturated everything.  We couldn't be happier for Mike and Sarah!

carley + dakota | Ames, Iowa

Last December we first met Carley and Dakota at her brother's wedding.  They immediately charmed us with their love for each other.  I distinctly remember saying to Abbie that it would be amazing to take their photographs.  We knew that we all would be a perfect fit.  When Carley contacted us, we were ecstatic.  It is such a honor for us to be a part of their family again.

Earlier this summer we traveled to Ames, Iowa to take Carley and Dakota's engagement photographs.  Ames and Iowa State University are dear to their hearts.  We began the evening at ISU's campus.  The tall historic trees cast long shadows across the immaculate campus.  Carley was able to show us ISU's hidden nooks and treasured spots.  It was ideal.  After we explored campus we adventured downtown to the city's bandshell and back alleyways.  It couldn't have been a better time.

Carley and Dakota made it so wonderful.  Carley is one of the most thoughtful and sweetest people we have ever met.  She thinks of everything and everyone before herself.  Dakota is a brilliant guy who makes everyone feel welcome.  His kind nature just makes you feel like you are at home.  He also has that effect upon Carley.  She is so relaxed and comfortable around him.  They are both outstanding people.  The time in Ames was so memorable and we can't wait for their wedding later this summer.

Catie + Ben | Elkhorn, Nebraska

We had a hunch, a strong hunch.  Everytime on our way home from Omaha we would drive past Elkhorn wondering what hidden treasures could be found in this quiet and quaint town.  We really like to find new and exciting locations for each couple that we photograph.  After much thought and consideration about Catie and Ben, we decided to give Elkhorn a try, and it didn't disappoint us.

We met up with Catie and Ben at the Scooters and from there we went to our first location.  They had dressed perfectly for what we had envisioned.  The old rustic barn outside of downtown, the field of goldenrods in the evening light, and a historic brick street provided the ideal backdrops for our experience.  Immediately when the shutter was first released, there was magic.  Ben has this incredible way of making Catie smile so that their personalities become larger than life.  She is a wonderful person with a beautiful heart and he can see the joy of life in all things.  Together they make a perfect couple.  Michelangelo once said that it was his job to set free his scupltures from their raw blocks of marble.  It was our task to set Catie and Ben free in the frame of cameras.  We can't wait for their wedding day this fall.
